Creation of a dedicated SEN facility
Mayco transformed an existing open space at New Park Primary School into a dedicated facility for pupils with special educational needs. The project created three classrooms, two breakout rooms, a sensory room, offices and an external play area.
Bringing the school’s vision to life
Careful planning and close collaboration with the headteacher and Stratus9 Consulting were central to the project.
The headteacher had a clear vision: to create a tranquil, welcoming environment where pupils would feel comfortable and supported. Sage green walls, a nature-inspired wall mural and leaf-patterned flooring brought this vision into the finished spaces, connecting the classrooms and supporting areas through a consistent design.

The Result
The transformation provided the school with a dedicated SEN facility combining teaching spaces, smaller breakout rooms, sensory provision and outdoor play.
From the internal layout to the finishing details, the project brought together the school’s vision and Mayco’s construction and building services capabilities. It was a rewarding scheme for our team, with the greatest satisfaction coming from seeing the finished spaces being enjoyed by the pupils.
